A great sermon based on I Samuel. Habakkuk 1.5 says, “Look . . .and watch, and be utterly amazed. For I am going to do something in your days that you would not believe, even if you were told.” In short, God is saying “Expect a miracle.” The same God who,

*healed the sick, by the thousands

*raised the dead multiple times,

*used a boy to stir a nation

*still performs miracles today, on a regular basis.

However, some Christians doubt that God wants to work a miracle for them today. But come in faith, not doubting. (James 1:6-8) I would be doing you a disservice of I didn’t tell you that every promise comes with a price. There is no victory without a fight, and there is no testimony without a test. There’s no crown without a cross and there’s no resurrection without a crucifixion. There’s no healing without a sickness. There’s no deliverance without a fire. There is something you will have to go through to get your promise, before Joseph went to the Palace he went to the pit and the prison. Before the three Hebrew boys were promoted they went through the fiery furnace. And between the children of Israel and their Inheritance (their promise land) there was a river called Jordan (Jordan means, descender or the one that takes you down) that’s what Jordan intends to do is take you down, kill your dreams, drown your faith. Even in most of our songs Jordan river is used to describe death.
There is a Jordan for every one of us. I have been to the Jordan in Israel, and faced my own personal Jordan River. Your Jordan may be different from mine, but what is the same is the fact that it stands between my promise and me and between you and your promise. And the only way you or I can get through it is by faith.

Things that keep your from your miracle. The flesh. God is willing, but the flesh is weak, carnal and fickle.

Luke 1:37 “For with God nothing shall be impossible.” Luke 18:26-27 “And they that heard it said, Who then can be saved? And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.” Matt 17:20-21 “And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.” Sometimes, and more often than not, we must deny the flesh to receive of the Holy Spirit.
