CIRCUMCISION IN THE BIBLE – Questions you may be wondering
Why did God talk about circumcision from the book of Genesis all the way through the Epistles in the New Testament? Because it was a sign and seal of his covenant between himself and his chosen people.
In this video, we’ll cover the topic of circumcision to answer questions that parents and Christians may have regarding what is Biblically permissible or forbidden. I also want to show you that the sign of our covenant in Christ Jesus is no longer outward in the flesh, but is instead spiritual of the heart, and it takes place in water baptism in Jesus name.
We will look at questions such as the following:
• Do parents have the liberty in Christ to have their male child circumcised?
• If a person is circumcised, does that obligate them to keep the whole law as Paul’s writings seem to indicate?
• Does a person have the liberty to be circumcised for aesthetic, cosmetic or hygiene purposes if that’s their desire?
• What was the purpose of circumcision and why did God talk about it in the Bible so much?
• What did the Jerusalem council decree in Acts 15 regarding Gentile believers and circumcision?
• Why did Paul have Timothy circumcised but not Titus?
• Does physical circumcision make a spiritual difference one way or the other?
I pray this video is a blessing to you.
God bless,
Theo Heartsill
