Though a formerly addicted to drugs and alcohol, he went on to become an assistant pastor. In 1977 he, his wife Brenda and infant son Joel evangelized until assuming the pastorate of the First Pentecostal Church in Miami, Oklahoma. In 1984, he became pastor of Gospel Lighthouse Church of Arroyo Grande, California, where he served for the next 12 years. During those years, the congregation grew and new facilities were added, including a 5 story Lighthouse office structure, the only one of its kind in the U.S. He has traveled the fifty States of America and eighteen nations in his ministry and is in great demand as a speaker. In 1996 Reverend Booker assumed the pastorate of Inland Lighthouse Church of Rialto, California. Since arriving, the church has grown steadily from under fifty into the hundreds and completed a beautiful auditorium. Pastor Booker has now turned his capable hand to the written word in several periodicals and books.
