The teaching of David K. Bernard. We know that, “Without holiness no man shall see the lord.” What is holiness? “The state of being holy; purity or integrity of moral character; freedom from sin; sanctity. Applied to the Supreme Being, holiness denotes perfect purity or integrity of moral character, one of his essential attributes. Applied to human beings, holiness is purity of heart or dispositions; sanctified affections; piety; moral goodness, but not perfect. Set apart for service to God.” Is holiness a set of rules or is it attained by walking after the spirit? (Romans 8:17) The answer is simple and obvious. As we hear His voice and follow after God, will will walk in His steps. Avoiding the lusts and pride of life. “Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
