Coronavirus, Pandemic, Govt Shutdowns, Quarantines – What Should I Do?
No doubt you’ve already heard of and been impacted by the coronavirus (COVID-19) that is now a global pandemic and currently affecting over 180 countries world-wide.
Governments are doing what they can to protect their citizens. Yet people are ridden with fear, panic and uncertainty as all non-essential businesses have been ordered to shut down resulting in millions of people losing their job and facing the possibility of financial disaster. The US stock market has panicked, losing over 11 trillion dollars in the last month.
The U.S. has cut off it’s northern and southern borders. All travel in and out of the U.S. has been shut-down unless approved as essential travel and approved by the government.
The medical field is overwhelmed due to a lack of supplies, ventilators, respirators, masks, hospital beds and extreme contagiousness of the virus. More and more people are being diagnosed with the virus as testing processes have increased and testing kits become available.
The government is asking (in some cases demanding) that all public gatherings of 10 people or more be BANNED including church activities and services.
As the church, how should be respond and what should we do?
What is our obligation to God and to our government?
How can we protect ourselves and those around us?
Should I stay indoors like they asked?
Should we discontinue our church meetings?
